A wanted gang member carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 announced by the Rajasthan Police, and linked to the infamous Manjeet Mahal gang, was arrested from Gurugram’s Sector 29 by a team of the Delhi Police Special Cell, officials said on Wednesday.

    The accused, identified as Lokesh alias Surya, is involved in more than 20 criminal cases, they added.

    According to the police, the action was taken following a tip-off regarding the accused’s movement in Sector 29, Gurugram, Haryana.

    Based on the information, a trap was laid and he was arrested from the Sector 29 market. Police recovered six firearms from his possession.

    As per the police, the accused is a resident of Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh, Delhi. Born in 1993 into a middle-class family in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, he completed his graduation in Delhi before allegedly getting involved in criminal activities in 2014.

    The accused was previously involved in more than 20 criminal cases, including offences of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion and violations under the Arms Act.
