A proclaimed offender, wanted in connection with a Rs 60-lakh cheating case, was arrested from the domestic terminal of Delhi’s IGI Airport by the IP Estate Police (Central District) following sustained technical surveillance and manual intelligence, said officials on Saturday.
The accused, identified as 39-year-old Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Techzone-4 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, had allegedly been evading judicial proceedings after being declared a proclaimed offender by a Delhi court. According to the police, the arrest was made as part of an ongoing special drive against proclaimed offenders and externees in the Central District.
According to the police, Mukesh Kumar had been declared a proclaimed offender on July 25, 2025, by the court of JMFC Preeti in connection with an FIR registered at IP Estate police station under Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged documents as genuine) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.

On July 10, the team received specific information that he was present at the domestic terminal of IGI Airport. Acting on the tip off, the police conducted a raid and apprehended him.
