A group of social activists staged dharna here on Saturday in support of activist and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on hunger strike for the past 20 days at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the alleged irregularities in NEET.
The activists who staged the dharna at Chidambara Nagar bus-stop on Saturday evening raised slogans in support Mr. Sonam Wangchuk and urged the Union Government to cede to his demands.
Mr. Wangchuk has been on indefinite fast since June 28 in support of Cockroach Janta Party’s protest against alleged irregularities in NEET and the students’ deaths linked to this controversy.
Even as his health was deteriorating, Mr. Wangchuk was removed forcibly by the police to the hospital from Jantar Mantar in Delhi where he was observing fast for the past 20 days to highlight his demand.
