The Digital University Kerala (DUK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technopark-based spacetech startup HEX20 to jointly design and deliver a specialised hands-on education programme in satellite technology.

The initiative aims at providing selected students from India and abroad with immersive training in the design, assembly, integration and testing of satellite subsystems.

According to an official release, the programme is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice by offering participants the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on real satellite systems. Through this practical learning experience, students will gain valuable exposure to satellite engineering workflows and develop the skills required for careers in the rapidly expanding global space technology sector.

Under the partnership, HEX20 will bring experienced satellite engineers and domain experts to lead the technical training, while DUK will provide the academic ecosystem and institutional support necessary for the successful implementation of the programme.

The MoU was signed by DUK Registrar Jaishanker R. Nair and HEX20 Chief Executive Officer Amal Chandran in the presence of DUK Vice-Chancellor Saji Gopinath.
