The Pitt secured 25 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, while Hacks followed closely with 24 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
Among the notable first-time nominees was Connor Storrie, who earned his maiden Emmy nomination, not for his breakout role in Heated Rivalry, but for hosting Saturday Night Live. The 26-year-old actor was nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category.
Heated Rivalry was not eligible for the Emmys because it is an entirely Canadian-financed production. However, Storrie qualified through his appearance on the long-running sketch comedy show. He hosted the February 28 episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring Mumford & Sons as the musical guest, and was joined by his Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams in one of the night's sketches.
