Washington Sundar’s participation with the ball in the second innings is in doubt after the all-rounder had an injury scare during the first innings of the third ODI against England in Cardiff on Thursday.
Washington, who came into bat at six after the fall of Virat Kohli’s wicket, looked in discomfort after seemingly pulled his right hamstring while completing a run in the 33rd over.
After a brief physio check and heavily strapping his right thigh, Washington resumed batting but his stay at the crease came to an end in the very next delivery after he edged a short ball off Saqib Mahmood to wicket-keeper Jos Buttler.
In the second innings, Washington did not walk out to field with Arshdeep Singh taking his place.
During commentary, it was declared that Washington Sundar has been ruled out for the remainder of the game and will not bowl in the second innings, dealing a blow to India’s defence of its target of 233.
