The Centre has introduced the Amnesty Scheme, 2026, providing a six-month window for establishments operating Provident Fund (PF) Trusts recognised under the Income Tax Act, 1961, to regularise their status.

This scheme applies to establishments that have been operating a PF Trust recognised under the Income Tax Act but do not possess a formal exemption notification from the Centre or State government as the case may be.

The scheme is valid for six months from the date of notification. The scheme was notified on June 29. The jurisdictional Regional Office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation will provide guidance and accept applications from establishments.

Eligible establishments should submit a formal application addressed to the Centre. The applications may be submitted through e-mail to the EPFO regional office concerned.  An expression of interest indicating its willingness for availing the scheme may be emailed to: [email protected], a press release from the EPFO said.
