Erling Haaland and Norway take on England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup tonight in another exciting quarter-final matchup.
After their stunning 2-1 win over Brazil in the Round of 16, the Norwegians are hoping to create more history at the Miami Gardens.
England ousted tournament co-hosts Mexico in the previous knockout round, seeing off El Tri 3-2 in a fiercely contested game that saw the Three Lions reduced to 10-men in the second half after Jarell Quansah was sent off.
It also sparked a furious brawl on the sidelines between their players and staff.
Although Mexico's FIFA World Cup run ended that night, their fans are still carrying the hostile sentiment as they've asked Erling Haaland to take revenge on England by knocking them out.
Haaland, who has scored seven goals at the tournament so far, responded to the calls by asking a cheeky, three-worded question in Spanish: "Y si si?".
The quote, which translates to "what if...yes?" is a famous catchphrase sung by Mexican fans during the 2026 FIFA World Cup to express hope and optimism in El Tri going all the way at the tournament.
While it didn't come to pass, Haaland has managed to strike a chord with the Mexican supporters now with his response. The striker had also previously reacted to a video of a Mexican music group recreating Norway's now-iconic 'Viking Row' celebration before performing a catchy rendition of the 'Haaland Song'.
Besides his on-field goalscoring form, Haaland has also made headlines for his humorous interactions on social media as well as beating the drums in their Viking Row celebration after the famous win over Brazil on Monday.
Tonight's fixture at the Miami Gardens is no ordinary one, as Norway would step out for their first ever FIFA World Cup quarter-final clash.
What makes it even more remarkable is that the Nordic side are playing in their first World Cup tournament since 1998 and making just their fourth appearance in the finals.
Erling Haaland and co. have surpassed all expectations already. Haaland himself, has lead Norway's charge with aplomb, lighting up the tournament with his prolific goalscoring form that places him only behind Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe (8 each) in the race for the golden boot.
