Erling Haaland’s record of scoring in consecutive competitive matches ended at 14 after he failed to score in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal against England on Saturday.

The Three Lions kept their composure to eke out a 2-1 win after extra time to seal a semifinal berth for the fourth time in history.

Jude Bellingham’s brace helped the side overturn the deficit after Andreas Schjelderup scored the opener in the 36th minute.

The Norwegian striker had scored in every one of his side’s competitive fixtures since the UEFA Nations League B fixture against Austria in October 2024.

Haaland currently sits third in the Golden Boot standings with seven goals in his maiden appearance at the quadrennial event.

He has scored 62 goals in 55 caps for the national team since making his debut in 2019.
