On Tuesday night, July 21, K-Pop girl group NewJeans dropped five new videos on its YouTube channel, all titled 2026 Summer of NewJeans.
The first four clips, each less than two minutes long, featured each group member - Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. And in the fifth one, they all came together, chatting in a nighttime setting, as a train passed by at some distance.
At the end of the video, the sound of a rabbit hopping through the bushes caught their attention. The gesture was dedicated to the band's fandom, Bunnies. In a statement regarding the symbol, ADOR said:
The video stands as an announcement of the group's comeback after three years, and has already received 1.4 million views on YouTube.
However, when the news surfaced on X, netizens were more shocked by Danielle's absence from the band. Here is how NewJeans fans reacted to it:
Some netizens shared that NewJeans wouldn't be the same without Danielle, while others called the singer the "sunshine" of the group.
NewJeans was formed as a five-member girl group by ADOR in 2022 and remained the same until December 2025. After Hybe's sub-label terminated Danielle's contract last year, this is the group's first video.
In response to the curiosity surrounding the new video, NewJeans' agency, ADOR, revealed to the media:
For the unversed, ADOR has previously confirmed that Hyein and Hanni have decided to remain with the label, but Minji's return status is still pending.
NewJeans had first announced a unilateral termination of its contract with ADOR in a press conference in November 2024.
The comeback video for NewJeans comes nearly half a year after Danielle Marsh opened up about her legal dispute with ADOR and her subsequent departure from the label. Without revealing the specifics of the conflict, Danielle said:
She also expressed her love for her former roommates, saying that "in one corner of my heart, there's always NewJeans".
