FIFA has confirmed the match officials for the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal between France and Morocco, with an all-Argentine crew, led by main referee Facundo Tello, set to officiate the game.
It is the first time in this World Cup edition that a game will have match officials exclusively from to a single nation
The appointment continues FIFA’s practice of selecting experienced officials for the latter stages of the tournament, with Tello bringing prior World Cup knockout experience into this high-profile clash.
The Argentine official previously supervised Morocco's World Cup quarterfinal win against Portugal in Qatar, making this his second consecutive last-eight match involving the Atlas Lions.
Facundo Tello will be assisted by Juan Pablo Belatti, Gabriel Chade, whilst Dario Herrera and Cristian Navarro serve as the fourth official and reserve assistant referees, respectively.
