The International Football Association (FIFA) is reportedly set to investigate several incidents of violent conduct by the Argentinian contingent after the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the final – riding on a goal by Ferran Torres – at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday. But after the full-time whistle, a scuffle broke out between members of Argentina and Spain, wherein several Spanish players, including Dani Olmo, Rodri and Gavi, were assaulted.
Following the episode, FIFA is set to look into the matter, which will include three specific incidents involving Argentine full-back Nahuel Molina, midfielder Leandro Paredes and Argentina’s assistant Fabian Ayala.

When the full-time whistle was blown, Spain’s players, including captain Rodri, who was substituted, ran onto the pitch. Just then, Molina shoved the Manchester City midfielder, prompting a heated conversation.
Soon after, Ayala was spotted grabbing Olmo’s neck, while Paredes did the same to Eric Garcia, before pushing Gavi down. Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni, intervened for peace, and the matter was eventually settled.
