The half-time show at the FIFA World Cup 2026 final could last up to 20-30 minutes, according to reports on Wednesday.

    FIFA has already announced a half-time show curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, which will also feature Shakira, Justin Bieber, Madonna, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and PS 22 Chorus. The show is a first for a football World Cup final.

    Characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets will also be part of the show.

    According a report in The Athletic, FIFA is targeting having this show last no longer than 20 minutes. International Football Association Board (IFAB) regulations state that half-time should last no longer than 15 minutes unless the referee approves a longer break.

    Recent football events in USA, including the Copa America 2024 final between Argentina and Colombia, and FIFA Club World Cup final between Chelsea and PSG included half-time shows that lasted over 20 minutes.

    The famed Super Bowl half-time shows generally last between 25 and 30 minutes.
