The FIFA World Cup 2026 round-of-16 match between Colombia and Switzerland trudged into extra time after neither side could find a breakthrough in 90 minutes and added time.
Colombia is looking to qualify for the quarterfinals for only the second time, and for the first time since 2014, with goalkeeper Camilo Vargas hoping to extend his impressive run with the national team.
Vargas, who had been a second-choice goalkeeper at previous World Cups, has enjoyed a brilliant run in this tournament, keeping three consecutive clean sheets to help Colombia reach the round of 16.
