A brief scuffle broke out between the Argentina and England players after the defending World Cup champion beat the Three Lions 2-1 in Atlanta on Wednesday.

The fight was instigated after Jude Bellingham hit Argentina substitute Valentin Barco as the South American team celebrated.

Bellingham had sparked another altercation in the closing minutes of the game after he fouled Lionel Messi and tried to confront the Argentina No. 10 for diving.

Enzo Fernandez and Cristian Romero immediately came to push away Bellingham while Dan Burn and Ivan Toney of England also got involved.

The tempers flaring was an anti-climactic end to a rollicking game which saw Argentina come from 0-1 down and advance to its second-straight World Cup final. Messi assisted goals for Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez.

Argentina will now face Spain in the final on Sunday.
