Former FS1 analyst and NFL player Emmanuel Acho made a bold comparison between soccer sensation Lamine Yamal and NBA superstar LeBron James. The New York New Jersey stadium hosted the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, where Yamal's Spain faced soccer legend Lionel Messi's Argentina.
Spain sealed the win with a goal from Ferran Torres in the 106th minute of extra time. Yamal became the youngest player to have a UEFA Euro championship and a FIFA World Cup under his belt, following Spain's win.
On Sunday's episode of the "Speak Easy" podcast, Emmanuel Acho revered Yamal's achievement and compared it to LeBron James' teenage years and other American teenagers.

James and Yamal are on different ends of the spectrum in their respective sports. The four-time NBA champion has had a career worthy of inclusion in the greatest-of-all-time conversations.
At the same time, the FC Barcelona star has already won three La Liga titles and was the runner-up in the Ballon d’Or, the most prestigious individual award in soccer, in 2025, in addition to his international success with Spain.
Emmanuel Acho pitted Lamine Yamal and LeBron James in his comparison, but the FC Barcelona star has nothing but respect for the four-time NBA champion. Yamal had once drawn inspiration from James to pull off the impossible with Barcelona, just like James did with the Cavs in 2016.
In April, Yamal put James' picture on his Instagram profile picture ahead of a second-leg UEFA Champions League game against Atlético Madrid. When asked about it, the Barcelona star revealed that he drew inspiration from James to pull the impossible and defeat Atlético Madrid after a 2-0 loss in the first leg.
LeBron James has been an inspiration for Yamal for a long time. The Barcelona star has often celebrated his goals with James' signature crown-to-the-head celebration.
