A book titled Seema Rythu Kanneeti Vetha (The Tears and Woes of the Seema Farmer), authored by ‘Kala Ratna’ Patti Obulaiah, was released at the TGV Kalakshetram in Kurnool on Sunday.
Former Rajya Sabha MP T.G. Venkatesh released the book and dedicated it to former MLA Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkatesh said that although he hails from the business community, he has waged numerous struggles for the rights of Rayalaseema region.
He recalled that during his tenure as an MLA and Minister, he brought many projects and implemented lift irrigation schemes for the small and marginal farmers of Kurnool district. He also highlighted the various schemes introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the welfare of farmers.
Meanwhile, Mr. Rajasekhara Reddy said that such literary works, which highlight the hardships of farmers and the issues faced by the people of the Rayalaseema region, foster greater public awareness.
He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to farmer welfare and the development of Rayalaseema region. He highlighted Patti Obulaiah’s extensive experience in literature as a writer, poet, and artist specialising in mythological themes, emphasising the need for more books and songs that inspire and benefit the youth and future generations of Rayalaseema.
He expressed hope that the TGV Kalakshetram in Kurnool would nurture future artists and expressed happiness at the book being dedicated to him in the presence of former MP and Rayalaseema movement leader T.G. Venkatesh.
Industrialist B.V. Reddy presided over the event, which was attended by Ravindra Educational Institutions director Pullaiah, A.P. Shalivahana Sangham director P.B.V. Subbayya, former Nandikotkur Municipal Chairman Sudhakar Reddy, and others.
