Nandyal police carried out a night-long search operation on the outskirts of the town on Sunday (July 19, 2026) night to trace a four-year-old missing girl, and found her in agricultural fields on Monday (July 20, 2026) morning.
Superintendent of Police Suneel Sheoran said the complainant, B. Kalyani, who lives in YSR Nagar in Nandyal town, noticed her four-year-old daughter Pranavi was missing around 7 p.m. Ms. Kalyani launched a search in the nearby area, and at 9 p.m. reported the matter to the police through the 112 emergency number.

Nandyal police then launched an extensive search operation in the areas around YSR Nagar and checked every street and the surroundings of every house.
On checking CCTV footage in the vicinity, the police found the girl walking alone towards agricultural fields. Mr. Sheoran visited the scene and supervised the search operation.

Night-vision drone cameras were deployed, sniffer dogs were pressed into service and special teams of nearly 100 policemen searched the areas near YSR Nagar, including canals and agricultural fields. Local residents also joined the search.
“Pranavi was found in the fields outside YSR Nagar and she was handed over to her mother. Pranavi was found two kilometres away from the place where she was last seen in the CCTV footage,” Mr. Sheoran said. He said the girl was safely rescued as the mother promptly reported her missing to Dial-112.
