Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro struck on either side of the half-time break to secure a 2-0 win for Spain over France in the FIFA World Cup 2026 semifinal in Dallas on Tuesday.

The victory takes La Furia Roja to their first final since 2010 and brings France’s hopes of a third title crashing down to earth.

Didier Deschamps’ side trailed for the first time in this tournament after Oyarzabal converted from the spot in the 22nd minute. The penalty had come Spain’s way after Lucas Digne fouled Lamine Yamal.

Porro combined with Dani Olmo to venture into the French penalty box in the 58th minute before slotting a composed right-footed shot past Mike Maignan.

Spain, which will play just its second title match, suffocated the touted French attacking line, keeping Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise and Ousmane Demeble at bay for the entire game.
