An alleged moral policing incident has come to light in Lakkoor village under the Dobbspet Police Station limits in Nelamangala taluk of Bengaluru Rural district, wherein a youth was allegedly assaulted by a group of men for accompanying a woman from their community.
According to the complaint, the victim, identified as Yashwanth, was walking with Kausar when three men — identified as Tahreek Pasha, Sohel Pasha, and Syed Kareem — allegedly stopped them, abused Yashwanth, and assaulted him.
It is alleged that the accused recorded a video of the assault on their mobile phones and circulated it in multiple WhatsApp groups. The video reportedly spread widely on social media.
The accused caught the two, called the family of the girl and assaulted the boy, while humiliating the girl.
Following the circulation of the video, Kausar is reported to have become severely distressed and has attempted to end her life, but survived the attempt.
Kausar has filed a complaint against the accused at the Dobbspet Police Station. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Efforts are on to track down the accused.
