Kolkata: Consumers of gold and silver jewellery and other items should be happy since the price of both precious metals have declined today too. The price of both the yellow and the white metal has recorded a small decline in the domestic market. In the retail market, the price of 10 grams of gold has reached Rs 1,41,950 and the price of 1 kg of silver has reached Rs 2,20,140. At the same time, there is a weakening trend on MCX, where gold for August 5 delivery is trading at Rs 1,41,201 and silver for September 4 delivery is trading at Rs 2,19,350. However, in the retail market, the price of both metals tend to vary from city to city. Therefore, one must always check the city wise price of the yellow metal and white metal before buying.

    A small decline was been recorded in the prices of both the precious metals in the retail market this morning. The price of 10 grams of gold has reached Rs 1,41,950, after registering a 0.37% decline compared to the price in the last session. The price of 1 kg of silver stood at Rs 2,20,140, posting a decline of 0.44%.

    Gold and silver futures also declined today as evident from MCX prices. Gold for delivery on August 5, 2026 is trading at Rs 1,41,201, registering a dip of 0.46%. Silver for delivery on September 4, 2026 is trading at Rs 2,19,350 posting a decline of about 0.58%. Both precious metals are under pressure in the commodities markets.
