Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday (July 23, 2026) that the government has decided to set up fast-track courts for paper leak cases. Mr. Modi stated in a post on X, “We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks,” in his first direct comments tied to major protests by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on NEET-UG paper leak.
These courts will be akin to the MP/MLA fast-track courts.
PM Modi added that he directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard.
Mr. Modi said in his X post, “This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students.”
He further said, “Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.”
Later, reacting to PM Modi’s assurance of a probe into paper leak cases, CJP reiterated its demand for the resignation Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Opposition, across political parties, also reacted to Mr. Modi’s announcement, insisting on Mr. Pradhan’s resignation.
