The HAL Police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old security guard, Vishwakarma, following a a trivial row in Chinnappanahalli.

According to the complaint filed by Nabin Singh, the victim and the accused were known to each other and lived in the same locality. The accused had allegedly been picking quarrels with Vishwakarma over previous disputes and had repeatedly threatened to kill him.

On July 13, while the victim was playing cricket with friends near a ground in Chinnappanahalli, the accused allegedly confronted him and assaulted him. Later that night, between 9.30 p.m. and 10 p.m., they again picked up a fight near a shop close to the complainant’s residence and allegedly attacked Vishwakarma with an iron punch, leading to his death.

The HAL Police have arrested Narendra Chand, Ram Chand, Govinda Chand, Vimal, and Vimala in connection with the case. Further investigation is underway.
