The police have arrested a BJP leader and nominated councillor Krishna Saini in connection with the suicide case of Sohanlal Saini, a resident of Saini Mohalla, Ferozpur Jhirka, Nuh.
The accused was produced in a Nuh court and sent to judicial custody on Monday. According to the police, Sohanlal Saini allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance following a property dispute. Acting on a complaint filed by his son, Himanshu, the police registered a case against six individuals under sections, including abetment of suicide.
According to the complainant, his father Sohanlal was involved in a family dispute regarding a property. His three aunts, Savita, Pushpa and Sunita, all residents of Tijara in Rajasthan, were demanding a share of his property and cash from his father. When Sohanlal refused to concede to these demands, they, along with his brother Praveen, nominated councilor Krishna Saini and Harsh, subjected him to constant pressure.
The complainant alleged that on June 1, all the accused arrived at the house, assaulted Sohanlal, verbally abused him and threatened to kill him over the property issue. Distressed by this, Sohanlal left home. According to the family, he also left behind a suicide note and a video. The next day, he was found in critical condition in a field within the jurisdiction of the Gopalgarh police station in Rajasthan’s Deeg district. He passed away near Ambedkar Chowk in Ferozepur Jhirka while being taken to a hospital.
The police have registered a case against Savita, Pushpa, Sunita, Praveen, Krishna Saini and Harsh. Krishna Saini has been arrested, while the search for the other accused is ongoing.
