The state government has decided to charge-sheet six doctors — three Deputy Civil Surgeons and three Medical Officers — for alleged lapses in the inspection of flex-boards under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme during 2022-23.
In a letter to the Director-General of Health Services (DGHS), Haryana, the office of the Additional Chief Secretary (Health) said the state government had decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the six doctors under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016.
The doctors named in the charge-sheet include then Rewari Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Rajbir Singh, serving Deputy Civil Surgeons Dr Ashok Kumar and Dr Jogender Tanwar, and Medical Officers Dr Deepak Verma, Dr Rajneesh and Dr Abhishek Rao.
The doctors were members of a committee constituted for the purchase and inspection of flex-boards to be installed at Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs).
However, instead of inspecting the flex-boards after their installation at the HWCs, the doctors reportedly inspected them at the office of the Civil Surgeon, Rewari.
Following this, the office of the ACS (Health) directed the DGHS to get the charge-sheet prepared and vetted by the Assistant District Attorney (ADA), and submit it to the state government within 15 days.
The state government has also decided to blacklist the security deposit of the firm concerned, Yadav Print Art, Rewari, and forfeit its security deposit for allegedly violating tender terms and conditions, by receiving payment before installing the flex-boards.
