State Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to 82 police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, in Karnal district.

Addressing the gathering, the DGP said, “Their sacrifice will burn as an eternal flame, guiding every officer who wears this uniform, and every generation to come, towards a life of honesty, integrity and fearless service.”

Singhal said the police had delivered a clear message to criminals, in keeping with CM Nayab Singh Saini’s directives that they must either walk away from crime or walk out of Haryana. He warned that anyone seeking to sow fear and terror in society would face the full force of the law.

The fear of law, once absent, was now unmistakably visible on the faces of those who thought they were invincible, he said.

The DGP appealed to the youth not to be lured by criminal networks, narcotics or anti-social elements operating from foreign shores.

He cautioned that the world of glamour in films and on social media was nothing but illusion, as in the real world, the law could reach every corner, hideout, border — and no offender could escape justice after committing a crime.

He said welfare schemes were being continuously designed and implemented at the headquarters’ level to make the daily lives of police personnel and their families more secure, comfortable and dignified.
