NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal is not against LeBron James choosing to pursue another championship at this stage of his career. James will play his 24th season and is taking his time to decide on which team he'll join for the 2026-27 season.
So far, James has won four championships and could join a team that would give him the best chance at winning his fifth. Teams like the Miami Heat, the Golden State Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to go after the four-time MVP. Adding him would increase any team's chances of contending for a title.
On Tuesday, O'Neal appeared on "Extra," and he was asked about his thoughts on his former teammate. According to him, he believes that James will join a franchise where he can add another Larry O'Brien Trophy to his collection.

O'Neal tried to ring-chase towards the end of his career and joined a 25-year-old James during the 2009-10 NBA season in Cleveland. Unfortunately for the big man, they went up against the Boston Celtics in the second round of the postseason and were eliminated after six games.
Additionally, O'Neal was 37 at the time, and injuries started to affect his availability. He played for only 53 games that year, averaging 12.0 points and 6.7 rebounds. LeBron James carried the Cavaliers, averaging 29.7 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 8.6 apg, winning his second-straight MVP.
Everyone is waiting on LeBron James to make a call and announce which team he'll join for next season. However, his longtime agent, Rich Paul, doesn't want to rush his friend and client.
Paul also said that teams have done enough in their pitches to try to recruit LeBron James.
Fans cannot wait to hear which team James wants to play for. However, they need to be more patient since he doesn't want to make a rash decision for his future.
