England legend Wayne Rooney has named Harry Kane as the player who can win the FIFA World Cup semi-final against Argentina for the Three Lions. The sides are set to face off in the second semi-final for a meeting with Spain in Sunday's final.

Rooney spoke on BBC's The Wayne Rooney Show, where he backed Kane to enjoy a fine outing against La Albiceleste. He singled out the striker as the player who will 'destroy' Argentina's centre-backs, predicting that they would be unable to deal with him.

Kane will lead the line for England, and will come up against players that he is familiar with. He was teammates with Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero, while the other centre-back Lisandro Martinez played against him in the Premier League. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is also well-known to Kane, as he is based in England's top-flight.

Harry Kane has scored six goals in the FIFA World Cup this summer, the same as Jude Bellingham has for England. He failed to score against Norway in the quarter-final, and will look to return to the scoresheet in the semi-final against the reigning champions.

Thomas Tuchel's side are heavily reliant on the duo, as they have scored 12 of the Three Lions' 13 goals in the competition so far.
