On Saturday, Sean McVay spoke about Aaron Donald's strict process ahead of a potential return to professional football.
The Rams (then San Diego Rams) selected Donald in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. He spent the entirety of his professional football career with the franchise, leading them to numerous postseason runs.
Donald established himself as one of the league's premier defensive players. He earned three Defensive Player of the Year Awards, eight first-team All-Pro selections, ten Pro Bowl nods and a spot on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. It remains to be seen whether he comes out of retirement and suits up for the 2026 campaign.
Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams are at Loyola Marymount University for training camp. The Rams reached the NFC conference championship game in the 2025 season before losing to eventual Super Bowl LX champions, the Seattle Seahawks.
McVay addressed some issues on Saturday, including Puka Nacua's availability and Alaric Jackson's arrest. The 2017 AP NFL Coach of the Year is optimistic about Nacua featuring in practice and Jackson being at training camp, as he won't be facing felony charges for his arrest.
The Rams are aiming for their first Super Bowl appearance since the 2021 season. They defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI to give both McVay and Donald their first big game rings.
Sean McVay's troops have preseason games against the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers lined up. Their regular season opener is against the San Francisco 49ers.
