Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy said on Sunday that the proposed Hyderabad-Bengaluru high-speed rail corridor, which will pass through Dharmavaram and Puttaparthi, is expected to improve connectivity and support economic activity in Rayalaseema region.
Speaking to the media here, the MLA said the proposed rail corridor through Dharmavaram and Puttaparthi would benefit pilgrims visiting Puttaparthi and improve travel options for residents of Sri Sathya Sai district and other neighbouring districts.
She said that the corridor could enhance access to key towns including Puttaparthi, Penukonda, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Kadiri, Madakasira and Rapthadu. “The project is also expected to benefit people in Kurnool, Anantapur, and Sri Sathya Sai districts located between Hyderabad and Bengaluru,” the MLA said.
Ms. Sindhura Reddy said that improved rail connectivity would support tourism and facilitate access to major destinations such as Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram, Lepakshi, Penukonda, Thimmamma Marrimanu, and the Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
