The Himachal Pradesh Police has suspended the incharge and lead artist of its orchestra, ‘Harmony of the Pines’, for allegedly earning income from social media platforms.

    DGP Ashok Tewari has also ordered a departmental inquiry against the officer. The inquiry will be conducted by a DSP-rank officer, who has been directed to submit a report within the next three months.

    According to reports, Inspector Vijay Kumar, who leads the state police's renowned orchestra, allegedly earned income through social media platforms, in violation of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules.

    Established in 1996, ‘Harmony of the Pines’ gained national recognition after emerging as a finalist in the reality television show Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan in 2022. Since then, the orchestra has performed at several national and international events.
