The BJP’s district mahila morcha discussed strategies for contesting the next Assembly elections at its party meeting here today.

    Talking about the policies and programmes, the district president of the BJP mahila morcha, Anu Thakur, said the party’s focus was on strengthening and expanding the body at the grassroots level.

    She said the organisation would play a pivotal role for helping the BJP in the coming Assembly elections, adding that the roadmap for political and social programmes, central and state issues, and allocation of tasks pertaining to the polls were on the agenda of the meeting.

    President of the BJP mahila morcha, Daisy Thakur, who was the chief guest at the event, said the mahila morcha would not limit itself to organisational activities alone, but would also conduct door-to-door campaigning to highlight the party’s policies and raise issues concerning women.

    She urged the workers to focus on networking, asking them to ensure the smooth conduct of each programme related to the elections.

    Thakur said each worker needed to stay up-to-speed with the party’s policies, programmes and activities. Taking a dig at the Congress, she said the party had failed to deliver on it promise to work for the welfare of women.

    Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti, former MLAs Balbir Chaudhary, Davinder Bhutto, Rajesh Thakur and district BJP president Shyam Minhas also attended the meeting.
