Piers Morgan has hit out at Gabby Agbonlahor following his criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo. He claimed that the English footballer-turned-pundit could never kick the ball like the Portuguese superstar.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Morgan took out his anger on Agbonlahor, after his video talking about Ronaldo on talkSPORT went viral. He added that the Portugal captain has numerous records to his name, and that puts him above all. He said:
Agbonlahor was on talkSPORT earlier this week, calling out Ronaldo for his performance at the FIFA World Cup. He claimed that all the talk before the tournament start was of the Al-Nassr superstar, but he failed to deliver.
He added that it was the best time for the national team captain to retire and said:
Agbonlahor continued to pull out the stats and be extremely critical of Ronaldo's performance and said:
Cristiano Ronaldo has not announced his retirement from football, though he has confirmed that he will not play another FIFA World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a poor 2026 FIFA World Cup with Portugal. He played in all five matches, but managed to score just three goals in the tournament.
The Portugal captain failed to find the target in the first match, and there were calls for him to be benched. He bounced back with a brace against Uzbekistan, but a blank against Colombia followed it.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first-ever FIFA World Cup knockout stage goal against Croatia, and that will be his final goal as they lost 1-0 to Spain in the Round of 16.
