New Delhi: House Of The Dragon is an HBO fantasy drama prequel to Game of Thrones, created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal. Based on the book ‘Fire & Blood‘, it follows the Targaryen civil war known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’, which breaks out roughly 200 years before the events of the original series.
The story focuses on a major succession crisis within the ruling dynasty. When King Viserys I names his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra, as his heir, it breaks tradition and eventually leads to a brutal war for the throne. The realm splits into two groups – the ‘Blacks’ (supporters of Queen Rhaenyra) and the ‘Greens’ (supporters of her half-brother, King Aegon, who is backed by the Hightower family). The story shows the heavy damage this political and military fight causes to both the kingdom and the Targaryen dragons.
On Monday, The latest episode of House Of The Dragon Season 3 released, which featured some unexpected comebacks and a shocking death.
There is a long history of characters returning from the dead in the House of the Dragon universe.
We have already seen it happen with Lord Corlys (Steve Toussaint), but now it seems that the Battle of the Gullet did not kill another victim after all.
So, who else survived, and how did they make it out alive?
After giving Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) a well-deserved scolding, Larys Strong (Matthew Needham) finally manages to convince him to get on a ship to Essos and stop trying to hunt down his brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell).
But just as they reach this agreement, they hear a voice: “What ship might that be?”
“Seven hells,” responds Larys when he realises that the cloaked man in front of them is Tyland Lannister (Jefferson Hall), who was last seen being thrown over the side of a different ship by Admiral Lohar (Abigail Thorn).
So, how did he survive, and what is he doing there?
At the end of the fifth episode, Daemon Targaryen finds Ser Luthor Largent, the commander of the City Watch, dead. He was also known as the Gold Cloaks. Along with Luthor, several other bodies of Gold Cloaks are staged as they were having a feast with a message written “A Feast for Traitors”.
A mysterious child is seen fleeing the scene each time a body appears. Later, it is revealed that Ormund Hightower is orchestrating the killings to place Daeron Targaryen on the Iron Throne.
