Spain beat Argentina by a solitary goal in the final of FIFA World Cup 2026 in New Jersey on Sunday.

    A Ferran Torres strike in the second half of stoppage time helped La Roja win its second title at the quadrennial event.

    Luis de la Fuente’s side will take home a prize pot of 50 million USD (approx. 4,814 crore INR) apart from the coveted World Cup trophy for its tournament win. This is the highest amount ever awarded to a World Cup winner.

    Runner-up Argentina will receive 33 million USD (approx. 3,177 crore INR) while third-placed England will get 29 million USD (approx. 2,792 crore INR).

    France, which finished fourth after losing to England in the third-place match will receive 27 million USD (approx. 2,599 crore INR).

    The teams that were eliminated in the quarterfinal will get 19 million USD.
