Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli were given three place grid penalties for the main race after they were found guilty for two separate offences during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday.
Ferrari’s Hamilton, who qualified second on the grid, just 0.012 seconds behind Mclaren’s Lando Norris, was penalised for impeding Mclaren’s Oscar Piastri, and will now start fifth on the grid.
The incident took place during the final runs of Q3 when Piastri, who was on a hot lap, was blocked by Hamilton at Turn 1, the newly named ‘Piquet’ corner.
Hamilton, who had already completed his final lap by then, was on his outlap when Piastri appeared in his mirrors.

The seven-time world champion, despite being alerted on the radio by his race engineer, failed to move out of the way, which forced the Australian to abort his final effort.
Mercedes’ Antonelli, on the other hand, was penalised for violating yellow flag procedures.
According to the FIA, the Italian failed to sufficiently reduce his speed while passing the yellow flag caused by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen’s spin at the final corner.
The championship leader, who qualified fourth and has endured a challenging weekend so far, will now drop down to seventh for the main race.
