American rapper and singer-songwriter Travis Scott commented on Norway striker Erling Haaland playing in a Nike boot made by him during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Haaland, 25, was one of the star performers at the recently concluded quadrennial event. The Manchester City marksman scored seven times in his opening four games to lead the Vikings to their first-ever World Cup quater-final, where Stale Solbakken's side lost 2-1 to England n extra time.

The first player in 56 years to score at least seven times in their opening four FIFA World Cup matches since Germany's Gerd Muller, Haaland registered his stellar exploits while wearing a Nike boot. Explaining his experience of seeing one of the best current players excel while wearing a boot made by him, Scott told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show (as per HITC):

Haaland met Scott after the Vikings' 4-1 group-stage loss to France. Having sat out the Les Bleus game, the City marksman signed a jersey for Scott with a personal message.

Erling Haaland sizzled in his maiden FIFA World Cup campaign for Norway who returned to the tournament after 28 years and made their deepest ever run, reaching the quarter-finals.

With seven goals in five games, the 25-year-old was one of four players to score as many in the tournament, finishing behind Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappe (10), Lionel Messi (8) and Jude Bellingham (7), who finished higher owing to assist compared to Haaland's none.

Among the top four, the Manchester City striker logged the fewest minutes (537) to score seven times, moving to a share of the Golden Boot lead with Messi and Mbappe after scorng both goals in a 2-1 Round of 16 win over five-time champions Brazil.

Erling Haaland had scored 16 times - the most by any player in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers - as the Vikings beat four-time champions Italy twice. The Azzurri eventually missed a third straight World Cup after losing on penalties to Bosnia & Herzegovina in the play-off final in March.
