On July 14, 2026, South Korean media outlet News1 reported that TWICE's Tzuyu has agreed not to renew her individual contract with JYP Entertainment after 11 years with the agency. The report added that she plans to continue participating in all group activities as a full member of TWICE.

Following the News1 report, news outlet Dong-A reported JYP Entertainment's statement. They stated that TWICE is currently in the contract renewal discussion period. The company said:

The news quickly spread among fans. Many expressed concern about how Tzuyu's individual departure might affect her presence in future JYP-produced TWICE content such as vlogs, variety segments, and YouTube series. Some drew comparisons to past situations involving other K-pop groups, in which members who left their agencies faced reduced visibility or were edited out of official group materials.

    One fan said:

Several fans shared a similar concern.

At the same time, fans also showed support for Tzuyu's potentially gaining more flexibility in her solo opportunities while remaining in the group.

TWICE members are discussing contract renewals with JYP Entertainment for the second time. The group debuted in October 2015 with initial contracts that ran for seven years. They completed their first major renewal as a full group in July 2022.

In June 2026, The Chosun Daily exclusively reported that Jeongyeon had a private meeting with representatives from Baro Entertainment to discuss potential acting opportunities. Baro Entertainment confirmed the meeting but noted that no decision had been made regarding an exclusive contract. JYP Entertainment has described these matters as part of the ongoing group contract renewal discussions.

In other news, the group will release new information on July 15. The group recently completed its sixth world tour, THIS IS FOR. The tour started in July 2025 and included 81 shows across 44 cities in 19 countries. It concluded with three sold-out performances at Seoul's KSPO Dome on July 12, 2026.

On July 14, Sports Kyunghyang reported that Chaeyoung is meeting other labels for solo activities. On the same day, JoyNews24 reported that Jihyo will establish her one-person company for solo activities but will stay in the group.

As of now, no further details have been confirmed regarding Tzuyu's future individual management or the exact terms of any new arrangements. Fans continue to follow updates closely as the group navigates this period of contract discussions.
