Spain legend Andres Iniesta has warned the current players that they cannot stop Lionel Messi in the FIFA World Cup final against Argentina with ease. He claimed that the 39-year-old always finds ways to help his team on the big stage.

Speaking to Tribal Football, Iniesta said that there was no way to keep Messi quiet in the entire match. He believes that the Spanish players should simply focus on their own game and not worry about the Argentine captain.

The Spanish legend, who has played with Messi at Barcelona, claimed that Spain can hurt Argentina with their own game, and that will prove more effective than shutting down the Argentina captain. He said:

When quizzed about the final, Iniesta added that he does not care who scores the winner. He wants his national team to seal the win and added:

Andres Iniesta scored the winner for Spain in their lone FIFA World Cup final in 2010, when they beat the Netherlands in extra time.

Xavi urged Spain to pin Argentina into their own half and press them high to keep Lionel Messi quiet. He said that the Argentina captain is best kept away from the box and said:

Argentina and Spain are unbeaten at the FIFA World Cup this summer and will be clashing at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, July 19.
