AEW is one of the leading professional wrestling companies in the world. Even though they were founded only seven years ago, their competition with WWE is fierce. Their roster is immensely talented, and 2026 has been a monumental year for them.
Many wrestling legends have performed for All Elite Wrestling so far. One such name is former TNA Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong. The 48-year-old was in the Tony Khan-led company briefly. She wrestled only five matches, but they were all well received. She spent most of her career in TNA, where she was a force to be reckoned with.
Kong made a shocking revelation on the season seven premiere of Dark Side of the Ring. This episode shed light on Jeff Jarrett and Total Nonstop Action's history. The former AEW star said that she was severely underpaid when she was in the Nashville-based promotion. She was making less than a manager at McDonald’s.
During the pandemic era, Awesome Kong could not perform for AEW due to travel restrictions. However, the legend revealed that Tony Khan did not stop her payment.
Tony Khan evidently treated Kong with respect. Hopefully, she will return to the Jacksonville-based promotion someday.
