Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik believes ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah could miss one of the three ODIs in the upcoming series against England. The Men in Blue will play the three matches with a quick turnaround between games, starting July 14 and ending on July 19.
Meanwhile, Bumrah was rested for the recent T20I series against Ireland and England, both of which India lost 0-2 and 0-4, respectively. The veteran pacer has also not played an ODI game for India since the 2023 World Cup at home.
Talking about Bumrah's participation in the England ODI series on Sky Sports, Karthik said (42:42):
Bumrah was last seen in action in IPL 2026, where he appeared to be fatigued and below par, picking up only four wickets in 13 outings at a dismal average of 102.50.
Dinesh Karthik believes the 2027 ODI World Cup will be Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's final tournament for Team India in their illustrious careers. The legendary duo have already retired from Tests and T20Is and have been active only in the 50-over format for the past year.
India's latest ODI assignment was the home three-match series against Afghanistan last month, which they won 3-0. While Kohli missed the series due to injury, Rohit impressed with two 40+ scores, including a well-paced 79 in the series finale.
