The Barcelona youngster impressed for La Roja as they secured their place in the semi-finals with a convincing 2-1 win against Rudi Garcia's side.

After the game, the 18-year-old received a Santos shirt from Neymar with his name on the back. As cazetv reporters handed over the souvenir to Lamine Yamal, he looked incredibly delighted and sent a message to the Brazil legend. The wonderkid said, as quoted by 433 on Instagram:

Neymar was part of Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil side that endured a difficult 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. He was a surprise pick in the 26-man squad for the tournament despite nursing a calf injury.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger played only 37 minutes of football in the tournament. Brazil bowed out of the World Cup following a 2-1 defeat against Norway in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, Spain have made it to the semi-final and will take on France at the Dallas Stadium on Tuesday, July 14. Lamine Yamal has played six games for La Roja in the tournament so far and has scored one goal.

After Lionel Messi's hat-trick in Argentina's FIFA World Cup opener against Algeria, the Barcelona star said:

Lamine Yamal has been touted as the heir to Lionel Messi at Barcelona and also inherited his number ten shirt. The two have never faced each other till date and had their much-awaited Finalissima cancelled earlier this year.
