Bollywood actor R. Madhavan is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming film GDN, following the massive success of Dhurandhar. The makers have confirmed that the film will hit theatres on August 7, 2026. Meanwhile, coming back to GDN, after receiving widespread praise for portraying real-life scientist Nambi Narayanan in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, R. Madhavan is once again taking on the role of a remarkable historical figure.

In GDN, he plays legendary engineer, inventor and philanthropist Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, popularly known as the "Edison of India." The film traces Naidu's inspiring journey across different phases of his life, from his ambitious younger days to his later years.

Besides him, the film features an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Priyamani, Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles alongside R. Madhavan. The music and background score have been composed by Govind Vasantha, while Aravind Kamalanathan serves as the cinematographer and Bijith Bala handles the editing.

Following its theatrical run, GDN is reportedly expected to premiere on Netflix. The screenplay has been co-written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan.
