Daniel Cormier recently shared his thoughts on a potential Sean Strickland vs. Dricus du Plessis trilogy bout.

Strickland and du Plessis have shared the octagon twice. The South African fighter defeated Strickland via a closely contested split decision at UFC 297 in January 2024 to win the middleweight title in their first encounter. In their rematch at 312 last February, du Plessis dominated Strickland over five rounds to get his hand raised and retain the championship.

'Stillknocks' lost the title to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319 last August. In turn, Chimaev lost the belt to Strickland at UFC 328 in May. With Strickland as the reigning middleweight champion and du Plessis coming off a strong decision win over Kamaru Usman, many have wondered whether a trilogy fight is on the cards.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Cormier claimed that fans didn't really want to see a trilogy and said:
