Telangana Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that efforts would be put in to ensure that no one lives in huts in Wanaparthy.
Under Indiramma Housing Scheme phase II, 1,500 houses per Assembly constituency would be sanctioned, along with 500 more to replace huts. There are a total of 32,000 families living in huts in the State.
After handing over sanction letters to beneficiaries of the housing scheme on Wednesday, the Minister said that house warming celebrations were held for 1.35 lakh houses constructed under phase I of the scheme, and slabs were laid for 1.25 lakh more.
He along with Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakiti Srihari and others laid foundation stone for Tahalsidar office and Venkateswara temple. He also paid tributes to former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The Minister said that a programme would be held in Khammam on Saturday (July 10, 2026) to mark disbursal of ₹9,300 crore under Rythu Bharosa to farmers.
