Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) will operate an Onam Vacation Special Tour Golden Triangle With Ahmedabad - Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train. The train is scheduled to depart via Manguluru on August 22, and return by September 2.
On July 14, IRCTC Joint General Manager, Ernakulam, P. Sam Joseph told reporters in Mangaluru that the tour covers Ahmedabad (Sabarmati Ashram, Rani ki Vav, Adluj Stepwell), Ekta Nagar (Statue of Unity), Delhi (Red Fort, Rajghat, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar), Agra (Taj Mahal), and Jaipur (Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar).
Tourists can choose between four categories of travel and accommodation.
Passengers booking in the economy class can expect to travel in non-AC sleeper coaches, non-AC accommodation twin/triple sharing basis in budget hotels, freshen up in non-AC budget hotels, and non-AC vehicles for sightseeing. The cost is ₹21,190.
In the Standard AC category, they would travel in 3-tier AC coach with other facilities being the same for the economy class. The cost is ₹31,720 per person.
Comfort class offers 3-AC travel, AC accommodation on twin/triple sharing basis in budget hotels, can freshen up in AC budget hotels, and will get AC vehicles for sightseeing. The cost is ₹37,570.
The Superior class offers travel in 2-AC coach, AC accommodation on twin/triple sharing basis in 3-star hotels, can freshen up in AC budget hotels, and will get AC vehicles for sightseeing. The cost is ₹52,870 per person.
The package includes three vegetarian meals common for all classes of travel. Other inclusions are an attendant in each coach, security staff for each coach, travel insurance, and applicable GST.
Air tour package
Mr. Joseph said IRCTC also offers a domestic air package covering Bodh Gaya, Kashi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya from August 27 to September 2. The cost is ₹31,000 per person.
IRCTC has a separate domestic air package from Mangaluru to Kashmir covering Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam from September 12 to September 17. The price is ₹51,200 per person.
