Dustin Poirier doesn’t have any sympathy for Conor McGregor after the Irishman’s injury at UFC 329.
McGregor had promised to put on a show in the main event last weekend, but he injured his knee just seconds into the fight after throwing a kick. The Irishman slipped a few times before the referee called the clash off just a minute after the first round.
This was a disappointing end to McGregor’s return as ‘The Notorious’ had been out for five years. However, Poirier seemed to enjoy McGregor’s downfall while speaking on The Deep Waters podcast.
‘The Diamond’ and his wife had been targeted by McGregor several times in the past, which led to the trilogy fight. McGregor suffered a serious injury in the trilogy bout against Poirier, and he could have torn his ACL at UFC 329.

McGregor tried to high kick Holloway a few times even after the first one failed, and Poirier questioned this tactic from the Irishman:
While the exact extent of Conor McGregor’s injury hasn’t been confirmed, the Irishman posted an update claiming he would undergo surgery and rehab before returning to fight.
However, if he suffered an ACL injury, Poirier believes the Irishman is done with his fighting career, given the time taken to heal.
Poirier shared his thoughts on McGregor’s recovery on the same podcast:
