Linda Noskova has captivated the tennis world not just with her on-court performances over the last fortnight, but also with her sharp wit. An interaction between the Wimbledon finalist and former World No. 1 John McEnroe once again brought her sense of humor to the fore.

Noskova, who is set to compete in a historic all-Czech Wimbledon final against Karolina Muchova, was asked by McEnroe about the success of players from her country at the All England Club.

Noskova jokingly linked the success of Czech players at Wimbledon to her country's beer.

The witty answer had McEnroe in splits, with the American applauding it as a “great answer”.

On a more serious note, Noskova said Czechia had a rich history in tennis.

Linda Noskova recalled watching Petra Kvitova win Wimbledon in 2011, saying it was the moment that convinced her she could achieve the feat. Besides Kvitova, several Czech women, including Martina Navratilova, Jana Novotna, Marketa Vondrousova and Barbora Krejcikova, have lifted the Venus Rosewater Dish. The list is set to get longer with the addition of Noskova or Muchova on Saturday.

Noskova was tested in the early stages of the tournament, needing three sets to get past Camila Osorio in the second round and a third-set tiebreaker against Sorana Cirstea in the third. She won her next three matches in straight sets.

Muchova, on the other hand, has faced trickier match-ups in the second week. She first came through a three-set battle against former Wimbledon champ Barbora Krejcikova in the fourth round before eking out another close win over Naomi Osaka. She then played an epic deciding set against Coco Gauff in the semifinal, saving a match point in the tiebreaker before coming through.
