A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jammu has issued a non-bailable warrant against Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Saeed in connection with a case pertaining to the ongoing probe into the Pahalgam terror attack.
The order was passed by the Special Judge of the NIA Court on July 8, two days after the agency filed a supplementary chargesheet against Saeed in the Pahalgam terror attack case.
The order stated, “The instant application has been presented before this court by NIA Inspector Arun Sharma for issuance of non-bailable warrant U/S 75 of BNSS against absconding accused Hafiz Muhammad Saeed @ Hafiz Muhammad Sahib @ Hafiz Mohaddad Sayid @ Hafiz Mohammad @ Hafiz Muhammad Saeed @ Hafiz Mohammad Sayeed @ Hafiz Mohammad Sayed @ Mohammad Sayed @ Muhammad Saeed (A-8) involved in case RC No. 02/2025/NIA/JMU whose supplementary chargesheet has been filed in the court”.
The order further stated that Saeed was deliberately evading his arrest and NIA prays for issuance of open-dated non-bailable warrant against him to initiate further proceedings in the matter and to take legal action against him at any further investigation.
Stating that arrest and custodial interrogation of the said accused are necessary for a “fair, complete and effective investigation”, the court issued non-bailable warrants against the accused.
