Unidentified individuals stole diamond and gold jewellery worth ₹25 lakh after breaking into a businessman’s house in Karaikudi.

Police said, Sathyanarayanan was a resident of the PAL Street New Town area in Karaikudi.

Currently residing in Chennai, he is into the wind turbine equipment manufacturing business and occasionally visits his house in Karaikudi.

On Monday morning, the lock of the house was found broken and the door was open.

Upon receiving information, the Karaikudi North police arrived and inspected the CCTV cameras in the area.

Initial investigations revealed that diamond jewellery, five sovereigns of gold, and 10 kg of silver items kept in the locker were stolen. The stolen items were valued approximately at ₹25 lakhs.
